Gossip is another activity that violates the dignity of the human person. Gossip perpetuates rumors, and rumors can be very destructive, distorting reality, causing difficulties at work and distrust in personal relationships. At best, gossip over-emphasizes one aspect of a situation or tells only one part of the story. So resist the temptation to participate in the latest bit of juicy office gossip. Base your impressions of people on your own interactions with them, not on what others say, and don’t say anything that you would be uncomfortable saying to the person’s face.
