A Path to Peace

Life's Healing Journey (LHJ) Retreats

Discovering peace requires a search for truth and a willingness to let go of everything that keeps us from being fully alive.

Becoming fully alive is a journey to inner harmony. It is allowing ourselves to grow and become the unique person we are because that is what God has called us to be.

LHJ Retreat in Rockford, ILLife's Healing Journey offers a deeper understanding of what is, and what is not, normal feelings and/or reactions to hurts, losses and disappointments. It guides you in letting go of the harmful impact these feelings and reactions have had on your life.

LHJ is primarily a spiritual journey that empowers and teaches you how to forgive. This journey offers the way to inner peace and prepares you to look at what needs to be changed.

The purpose of Life's Healing Journey is to change hearts and lives so that you can have peace, love and joy.

The foundation of LHJ is the Compassionate Love of God. "The greatest human need, if people are to find meaning and happiness on earth, is to learn to believe in God's love for them and to allow His love to transform their lives" (MSC Constitutions).

We Missionaries of the Sacred Heart offer three Life's Healing Journey retreats: Life's Healing Weekend, The Spiritual Journey, and Healing Childhood Hurts.

All of these retreats are held in a peaceful place and are very informal. They are open to people of all faiths. These weekend retreats are a blend of informal talks, private time, small-group sharing, and prayerful reflection, and they conclude with Mass.

Reflection of the Week

Fr. Mike Miller, MSCFr. Mike Miller, MSC (Pastor of St. Therese Parish in Aurora, IL) reflects on St. Mary Magdalene, drawing from his experiences in Bogotá, Colombia where part of his ministry included working with Fundación Vida Nueva (New Life Foundation), an organization which works with prostitutes and their children to break the cycle of prostitution. Each of us, no matter what our background is, can be transformed by Jesus' presence like Mary Magdalene was. Click here to read an interview (in Spanish) with Nohora Cruz, founder of Fundación Vida Nueva.
