Missionaries of the Sacred Heart

On July 2nd, Dr. Jorge Partida was named the Director of the International Council for Rotary Aurora Sunrise Club (Aurora, IL). He is currently working on a project to donate computers to Mexico through an organization called Centros de Integración Junvenil (CIJ). CIJ is a large, nonprofit organization in Mexico that provides substance abuse treatment in 105 centers throughout the country. Dr. Partida will be coordinating this project and exploring other possibilities for international work, focusing especially on education, employment and delivery of services.

Dr. Partida has recently begun working with the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) and in the past two months he conducted child protection training workshops for our members and our staff in our communities in the United States. Later this month, his first book,The Promise of the Fifth Sun, will be released. The book deals with the myths of inferiority that many people, particularly Latinos, integrate into their lives.
