On April 30, 2008 the Diocese of Rockford celebrated the jubilee anniversaries of all the priests currently working in the diocese. Our own Fr. Frank Timar, MSC participated in the celebration because he is celebrating 50 years in the priesthood this year! There was a Mass at St. Rita Catholic Church in Rockford, followed by a very nice dinner at Giovanni's Restaurant. Fr. Frank is currently the pastor at St. Mary's Parish in Sycamore, Illinois, where he has served since 1990. In addition to English, he is fluent in German and Italian and taught German for several years at the MSC minor seminary. It was a wonderful experience to celebrate with all present and to see one of our priests recognized for his long and dedicated service to the Church.
