Fatima School

In March, Fátima School in Buenos Aires, Argentina celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of its foundation. During the celebrations, the school was honored by the visits of religious and civil authorities of the City of Buenos Aires.

Fátima School started as a small wooden building in an easily flooded zone close to the Parish of Our Lady of Fátima. Today it has grown and now educates close to 2,500 students. Since its founding, Fátima School has aimed to meet the needs of the very poor population living in the neighborhood and in the surrounding Villa Miseria de Soldati. Even today, approximately 600 of its students receive food assistance each day. Over the years, the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart has been committed to this school which was founded by Fr. Leoncio Núñez MSC, who also served as the school's Legal Representative and Director for many years.
