On June 30, there was a mission sending ceremony at the 9 am Mass in Chaumont, NY for 14 people, including several young adults, who left that day to go on a mission experience in the Dominican Republic. This experience was carefully planned with Sr. Lisa Valentini, MSC, an MSC Sister currently working in the Dominican Republic. Fr. Pierre Aubin, MSC, leads the group which includes: Beverly Hennigan (Lay MSC) Sue Briggs, Elizabeth Rippe, Dr. Joseph Canella, Amanda Donohue, Joe Raville, Jeff Huggins, Matt and Michael Grunert, Stephanie Petersen, Elana and Sara Tontarski, and Jacob Pignone. The mission group will not know exactly what they will be doing until they get there and Sr. Lisa gives them their assignments, but they have been told that their mission will involve going to orphanages and doing projects with handicapped children. Surely, it will be an unforgettable experience and we look forward to more details when they return!
