MSC Arrive from India
Wednesday, 02 July 2008 18:15
Fr. Pancratius Joseph, MSCAfter more than 24 hours of traveling, Fr. Antony Lazar, MSC and Fr. Pancratius Joseph, MSC, members of the MSC Indian Union, arrived to Aurora, IL. They will both be participating in the Mission Cooperation Plan over the summer. It is Fr. Antony's first visit to the United States, where he will spend the next three years. We are happy to welcome back Fr. Pancratius, who lived with the MSC community in Aurora from 2003-2007 whileFr. Antony Lazar, MSC he earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. After he graduated, he returned to India where he works full time in a private practice in Bangalore. His clients, who are mostly Hindu, pay on a sliding scale based on income, so that no one is turned away because they cannot afford counseling. Fr. Antony spent the last year teaching English (he has both a Master's in Education and in English) and has a strong interest in languages. In addition to English, he speaks several Indian languages (Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil), he's picked up some French and Greek, and hopes to learn Spanish in his three years in the United States. We are very happy to have Fr. Antony and Fr. Pancratius with us and look forward to learning more about the work of the MSCs in India.
