Missionaries of the Sacred

Volunteer with a local organization that helps resettle refugees. Opportunities might include translating, teaching English as a Second Language, helping children with their school work, helping refugees learn their way around a new city, language and culture, or simply being a friend to someone who has had to leave their friends behind.

Contact your local Catholic Charities (or similar organization) to get a list of items frequently needed by recently arrived refugee families. Then pick a welcome box (or boxes) and host a drive at your parish, work or school . Ask people to donate new or like-new items on the list.
