This book is written to help people answer the question “Who is Jesus?” in their lives. The answer that people give to that question is, for Fr. Leinen, “critical for their spiritual lives”.
Part One of the book presents reflections on the meaning of Jesus from the perspective of different Gospel passages. In Part Two, Fr. Leinen reflects on “Jesus in Our Daily Lives” and how different people have come to discover Jesus in the different events, both positive and negative, of their life’s journey. Much of Fr. Leinen’s personal journey of faith is interspersed among these different reflections.
The book is very helpful in coming to a more personal understanding of who Jesus is in our lives. As we read the reflections on who Jesus is in the scriptures and how He has been present in peoples’ lives, we are invited to reflect on the different images of Jesus that we hold in our lives. As we do so, we are led to see more closely how Jesus has acted in our own lives to bring us into a deeper relationship with Him and a willingness to place our lives into His care, and to be His disciple.
