On August 10, the Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus began a year-long celebration of 100 years of mission in the United States with a Eucharistic Liturgy at the chapel in St. Michael Convent. In 1908, eight sisters arrived to the United States from Germany, and three years later they established their headquarters in Reading, Pennsylvania, where the Provincial Motherhouse of the U.S. Province is still located today. Worldwide, there are over 850 Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSC Sisters) working in 19 countries. Like their MSC brothers, the MSC Sisters are committed to sharing the compassionate love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with everyone.  In the U.S., the sisters work in Native American ministry, circus ministry, education, health care and counseling services. The U.S. Province also has a mission in Mexico where the sisters work to provide social assistance, education and housing to thousands of people. Congratulations to our MSC Sisters on your 100th Anniversary year!
