Frequently Asked Questions about Parish Retreats |
|
|
|
What kind of retreats are available?
The MSC band of preachers offer retreats including (but not limited to):
- Spiritual renewal based on the Sacred Heart of Jesus
- Life’s Healing Journey
- 40-Hour Devotion
- Parish Healing (for instance, to assist congregations with parish closings or reorganizations)
- Men’s retreats and women’s retreats
- Retreats for priests or seminarians
How long is the retreat?
The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart recognize that the needs and situation of each diocese, parish or parish group are different. Therefore, each preacher coordinates closely with the Pastoral Leader to determine the length, schedule and intensity of each retreat. Please call Fr. Jablonski at (630) 460-1804 to talk about your parish’s or diocese’s needs and he will work with you to develop and personalize a retreat which best meets those needs.
How much does a parish retreat cost?
The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart depend on donations to continue their ministry, however, they also recognize that the needs and circumstances of each parish are different. Therefore our preachers offer two options, either a stipend (to be agreed upon in advance between the MSC preacher and the Pastoral Leader) or a special collection taken sometime during the retreat. We also ask that the parish, diocese or parish group reimburse our preacher's transportation expenses and provide him meals and a place to stay for the duration of the retreat. Our preachers are happy to stay at the rectory or with parishioners.
