The Church condemns the practice of induced abortion, but she also remembers our call to judge the action only, not the person. The Church realizes that the decision is rarely an easy one and that even long after the fact, it can have devastating effects on one or both parents of the baby, as well as others who may have been involved in the decision-making process. Women who have had an abortion may also feel unable to truly grieve their loss, which is necessary for healing to occur.
