Fr. Joseph Jablonski, MSC was recently asked by the Archdiocese of Chicago to temporarily administer St. Anthony of Padua Parish in (Cicero) Chicago, IL. The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart are honored by the request and look forward to helping meet the spiritual needs of the vibrant community at St. Anthony. Fr. Joseph is a member of the MSC Illinois Community who currently assists with parish ministry at St. Joseph Parish Shrine in Chicago, which is in Back of the Yard neighborhood on the southwest side of the city. He also serves as the editor of the MSC website and communications and works in Life’s Healing Journey retreat ministry. Having served as a missionary in Colombia for over 20 years, Fr. Joseph is bilingual, a skill which is increasingly needed in Chicago and other metropolitan areas as neighborhood demographics change. Like St. Joseph Parish Shrine, which offers masses in Spanish, English and Polish, St. Anthony of Padua Parish also serves a diverse community, offering masses in Spanish, English and Lithuanian. As Fr. Joseph begins this new ministry, we pray that God may guide him in his work to serve the people of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.
