On November 20-22, the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) held their first Life’s Healing Weekend retreat in Center Valley, PA. Lead by Grace Delgado (director) and Fr. Joseph Jablonski, MSC, and Pennsylvania team members Ellie Solis, Deacon José De Castro and Emma Vega, the retreat was offered in Spanish and took place at Sacred Heart Villa.

Life’s Healing Weekend is one of the three Life’s Healing Journey (LHJ) Retreats offered as part of the MSC Retreat Ministry, which includes the Healing Childhood Hurts retreat and The Spiritual Journey retreat. Because the program is a powerful healing ministry and has experienced such success in Illinois, the MSC USA Province wants to spread it to all of their local communities. Over the past year, the ministry has grown substantially, not only by adding more retreats in Spanish but also responding to the needs of the other communities by training team members in California, Pennsylvania and even as far away as Lima, Peru. The training process requires all potential LHJ team members experience an LHJ Retreat. For example, the team in Pennsylvania attended the retreat in Illinois in the spring in order to be ready for the November Life’s Healing Weekend in Pennsylvania.

The evaluations of the Pennsylvania LHJ retreat showed that it was a powerful healing experience for those who participated. The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart are now preparing healing retreat programs in both Spanish and English for the ministry in Pennsylvania. More details coming soon.
