Sexual abuse of children refers to sexual acts, sexually motivated behaviors or sexual exploitation of children, including but not limited to incest, fondling, indecent exposure, exposure to pornography or use of a child in sexually exploitative activities. Inadequate supervision of a child's voluntary sexual activities also constitutes sexual abuse.2 Chapter 3
Signs of sexual abuse
- difficulty in walking or sitting4
- torn, stained or bloody clothing
- pain or itching in the genital area
- sexually transmitted diseases
- pregnancy
