The MSC New York Community is located in Watertown. MSC staff two parishes and also regularly visit the sick in the hospitals in the area. Parishes in New York staffed by the MSC are: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in Watertown, NY The Catholic Community of Cape Vincent, Rosiere and Chaumont In addition to these ministries, the MSC in New York are also involved with the Sacred Heart Foundation and the Mission Project Service. The Sacred Heart Foundation provides scholarships to young men around the world who are studying to become MSC. Over the years they have awarded more than $1 million and this year alone they awarded nearly $70,000 in scholarships. Mission Project Service, "strives to help Church people and other agents of development in less-industrialized countries obtain assitance from interational agencies for their religious and socio-economic projects." Fr. Pierre Aubin, MSC, served as director of MPS for more than 25 years and now assists as an adviser. News from New York There are presently 34 children ages six weeks to five years in in the parish's day-care program.

One Sunday a month during the school year, the Holy Name Society members of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish cook and serve a "big breakfast" to parishioners after the two morning Masses. Besides being a fund raiser for the Holy Name Society, this breakfast also enables parishioners to enjoy some fellowship with fellow church members.

Fr. Mike Miller, MSC (Pastor of St. Therese Parish in Aurora, IL) reflects on St. Mary Magdalene, drawing from his experiences in Bogotá, Colombia where part of his ministry included working with Fundación Vida Nueva (New Life Foundation), an organization which works with prostitutes and their children to break the cycle of prostitution.
