Fr. Leon Weisenberger, MSC and Fr. Vince Freeh, MSC

Congratulations to Fr. Vincent Freeh and Fr. Leon Weisenberger who celebrated their 65th Anniversaries in May!

Father Freeh was ordained on May 30, 1959. He professed his first vows on September 8, 1952, and his final profession was on September 14, 1956. Father Freeh was sent to the Island of Manus in Papua, New Guinea where he served as Pastor. Later he served as Pastor in mission stations, particularly at Lemakot on the Island of New Ireland until 1978. In that time, he built schools, churches, village centers, and a ten-unit health center.

Father Weisenberger was ordained on May 30, 1959. He professed his first vows on September 14, 1953, and professed his final vows on September 14, 1956. Father Weisenberger spent 50 years in Papua, New Guinea where he was appointed MSC Superior of the Kavieng Province in 2002. He was awarded a medal of honor for ‘Services rendered to the Church and the people of Papua, New Guinea’.

Both Fr. Freeh and Fr. Weisenberger are currently retired and live at the Sacred Heart Villa in Center Valley, PA.
