Front - Diocesan Seminarians: James Hy and Owen Fitzgerald Back - Deacon Michael Tulman, Bishop Albert Schlert, and Fr. Richard Kennedy, MSC

On March 16, 2024, the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in Center Valley, PA celebrated the 200th Birthday Anniversary of our Founder, Father Jules Chevalier, MSC. He was born on March 15, 1825. Because this date was on a Friday during Lent, we celebrated the occasion the day after. We had about 95 people join us in our chapel. Bishop Alfred Shlert, Bishop of the Diocese of Allentown, presided at our “Mass of Thanksgiving.” Our congregation was composed of MSC Brothers, priests, Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Lay members, diocesan clergies, seminarians, and many friends of the MSC. Our Provincial, Fr. Richard Kennedy, MSC, provided the homily for us.

After the Mass, there was a social gathering and lunch at the De Sales University Center. Following the meal, there were three shares from Fr. Richard Kennedy, Provincial Superior, Sr. Mary Ann Bigos, and Br. Jim Miller. After that, Br. Hung continued the program by inviting everyone to join in singing the MSC songs, which gave all attendees a better understanding of the MSC spirit of the Heart.
