Representing the Superior General, the General Secretary, Fr. Mike Miller, MSC, witnessed the MSC becoming an official Congregation province. On March 16, the former Indian Union was established in 1997 and is now an MSC Province. On this same date, three MSCs received the order of Diaconate from the Archbishop of Bangalore, Peter Machado. The newly ordained were Vinodh Kumar, from the Bangalore Diocese, Karnataka State, Karthik Raja Sekar from the Madurai Archdiocese of Tamil Dadu State, and Sesu Raj from the Mysore Diocese, Karnataka State. The Official Blessing and Opening of the Chevalier Academy was built on the site, which formerly housed the MSC Formation House at Bellandur Gate. Fr. Darwin Thatheus, MSC, will continue to be provincial of the newly erected Province until December, assisted by his present Council members. The Superior General, Fr. Absalon Tovar, MSC, asked that a Provincial Chapter be held in August. Congratulations to the MSC Indian Province.
