Lord of gifts, a flood of gifts has come to us from your Divine Heart. With hearts uplifted, we gather around our Thanksgiving table to thank You in prayer. We are grateful for the gift of life itself and for family. But, we are also grateful for the gifts of friendship, love, and forgiveness that we are able to show each other.
On this feast of giving thanks, Lord God, we thank You for showing us how to return thanks by lives of service, by deeds of hospitality, by kindness to a stranger, and by concern for each other. We are most grateful during this Thanksgiving season for the way You have become visible to us in worship, in one another, in countless daily gifts, and in the beauty of creation.
Come Lord and bless our table and the food of this feast, whether it be plentiful or meager.
Let us praise and thank the Lord today and all days. Amen.
