Can the simple “Yes” change our wayward world?
It once did when a young girl replied
To the envoy that came from the sky:
“Do with me what you will.”
With her whole-hearted yes
Conception began with no seed from a man.
The maiden became a mother
Of God’s only begotten Son.
That Son, like the light of a physical star,
Illumined minds darkened by sin,
Thawed cold, indifferent hearts to care,
Changed a brutal, cruel world by forgiveness.
Those now who say yes to Christ,
Let him rule their passions and thoughts
Continue the marvelous change
By their honesty, goodness and love.
