The temple of the Lord is a heart that is pure

One thing I ask of the Lord; this I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, that I may gaze on the loveliness of the Lord and contemplate his temple” (Ps 27). The temple of the Lord is a heart that is pure. The loveliness of the Lord is reflected in our hearts when we invite him to dwell within our temple. There is never an hour of the day or night, nor a day of the year, when Jesus does not abide with those who love him.

The Father and the Holy Spirit accompany the Son of God in visiting and abiding with us. Only faith can see this vision of our own hearts. Nevertheless it is possible to have a kind of experience of the divine presence within. This is not a seeing of God face to face. Still it is much more than an imagining. There are no words to describe what God can accomplish in a person of deep prayer.

Prayer:

Soon it will be the close of another year, Lord Jesus. Each year in my life as your disciple is another advance toward closer union with you. Lead me, day by day, ever closer to you. May the Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwell in my soul.
